Lunch Concert – Diavolo Italiano
Virtuoso Music and Lunch in the Summer on Mount Rokko!
The programme chosen by the two performers for this lunch concert will feature the Sonata for Violin and Continuo ‘The Devil’s Trill’, composed by the Italian violinist Giuseppe Tartini in the late Baroque period. It is the most famous masterpiece of his works. It takes its name from the legend that Tartini was awakened by the beauty of the music when the Devil came out of a dream and played the violin at his bedside.
Although the sonata is famous for being extremely technically demanding, it is also rich in beautiful and nostalgic melodies. This is a sumptuous concert of baroque masterpieces with a special lunch menu in the beautiful Rokko Mountains in early summer.
Iurato plays on his G. Cappa violin, which once belonged to the famous Turin violinist and composer G. Pugnani, whose masterpiece Sonata will also be on the programme.
